Seasonal Positions:

We hire many summer positions to help with our resident camp and day camp programs. Below are the job descriptions for the summer of 2017. 

Resident Camp Manager

 The Resident Camp Manager is responsible for the smooth running of Resident Camp. They plan the daily program, lead certain events, mentor the Head Counselors, and assist with camper and counselor issues. In cooperation with the Resident Camp team they will have to ensure that campers and staff have a great camp experience, and they are equipped and taken care of physically, emotionally and spiritually. They will facilitate their staff’s growth personally and spiritually. They will support their team with advice, encouragement and prayer. The Resident Camp Manager reports to the Program Director. Minimum 3 years of experience in working with children and youth is required. Ideal candidates have to be spiritually and emotionally mature, energetic, flexible, and have excellent leadership skills.

Minimum age: 21 years old by June 1st.

Job dates: June 4 – July  28.

Head Counselor

The main responsibility of the head counselors is to assist Resident Camp staff physically, spiritually and emotionally. We are looking for one male and one female with previous experience as a camp counselor and in leading peers. Other responsibilities include sharing in the leadership of certain programs and activities. Head counselors are anchors of camp life and will be looked to for guidance and affirmation from counselors and campers alike. Must have camp experience.

Minimum age: 19 years old by June 1st.

Job dates: June 13 – July 28.

Resident Camp Counselor

Together with their co-counselor they are responsible for a cabin of up to 14 campers. This position includes but is not limited to the following responsibilities: leading and mentoring youth, actively participating in camp games, activities and lessons, assuming leadership for specific activities assigned, keeping cabin group on task and on schedule, and leading devotions and spiritual guidance to cabin group. This position is open to someone who is passionate about Christ and desires to see kids’ lives changed by the gospel of Jesus Christ.  It involves long hours of hard work and prayer. The success of our camp ministry greatly depends on the strength of our counselors.

Minimum age: 18 years old by June 1st.

Job dates: June 13 – July 28.

Day Camp Manager

The Day Camp Manager is responsible for the smooth running of Day Camp. They plan the daily program, lead certain events, mentor the counselors, and assist with camper issues. In cooperation with the Day Camp team they will have to ensure that campers and staff have a great camp experience, and they are equipped and taken care of physically, emotionally and spiritually. They will facilitate their counselors’ growth personally and spiritually. They will support their team with advice, encouragement and prayer. The Day Camp Manager reports to the Program Director. Minimum 3 years of experience in working with children and youth is required. Ideal candidates have to be spiritually and emotionally mature, energetic, flexible, and have excellent leadership skills.

Minimum age: 21 years old by June 1st.

Job dates: June 4 – August 18.

Day Camp Counselors

 Together with their co-counselor they are responsible for a group of up to 20 campers. This position includes but is not limited to the following responsibilities: leading and mentoring children and youth, actively participating in camp games, activities and lessons, assuming leadership for specific activities assigned, keeping group on task and on schedule, and leading devotions and spiritual guidance to group. This position is open to someone who is passionate about Christ and desires to see kids’ lives changed by the gospel of Jesus Christ. This role can be tiring and stressful, but very rewarding. The success of our camp ministry greatly depends on the strength of our counselors.

Minimum age: 18 years old by June 1st.

Job dates: June 13 – August 18.

Office Assistant

The Office Assistant works closely with the Camp Registrar and the Program Director and the summer leadership team. Their responsibilities include but are not limited to registrations, sending and receiving emails and phone calls concerning summer camp, managing our gift shop, distributing camper mail, scheduling, finalizing and printing weekly newsletters, ordering weekly group photos, and assisting the Program Director with various paperwork.

Minimum age: 18 years old by June 1st.

Job dates: June 13 – August 18.

Activity Coordinator

Responsible for organizing, setting up, leading and cleaning up of camp games and special events primarily but not exclusively in Day Camp. The Activity Coordinator has to be creative, very energetic, fun-loving, prepared, confident and organized. Making Camp a fun, safe, and unique place are their top priorities. Experience in leading organized games, sports, and activities is required. Must stay on premises during the camp week to support evening programs for Resident Camp.

Minimum age: 18 years old by June 1st.

Challenge Course Specialist

The main job of the Challenge Course Specialist is the implementation of different challenge course activities (such as Zip Line, Climbing Tower, and Giant Swing) while ensuring the strictest security measures for the safety of every participant. They work with various age groups from both Resident and Day Camp. Belay experience is required, and you must be comfortable working at heights. The Challenge Course Specialist is encouraged to stay on premises during the camp week to support evening programs for Resident Camp.

Minimum age: 19 years old by June 1st.

Job dates: June 10 – August 18.

Craft Specialist

This position includes preparing crafts for each day, leading craft time for various camp groups from Resident and Day Camp, helping campers and directing counselors with projects, and setting up/cleaning up after sessions. They may be asked to lead craft activities during special events. The Craft Specialist must be creative and portray excitement with each project. They also have to keep inventory of Camp’s craft supplies. They must stay on premises during the camp week to support evening programs for Resident Camp.

Minimum age: 18 years old by June 1st.

Job dates: June 13 – August 18.

Media Specialist

Responsible for filming, creating, editing, and copying 7-10 minute DVDs for each week of Resident Camp, a summer staff DVD including the video from each week, as well as various promotional videos as requested. Photograph various camp activities in both camp sections, and take and print cabin and Day Camp group pictures weekly. Experience is required in the following areas: photography, video making and editing, graphic design, Photoshop. Must stay on premises during the camp week to support evening programs. Must be prepared to show portfolio of work at interview (pictures and videos).

Minimum age: 18 years old by June 1st.

Head Lifeguard

They must be Red Cross Lifeguard certified. The Head Lifeguard is responsible for running the waterfront activities such as the pool, the lake and the water slide. They have to schedule and oversee the work of lifeguards at each waterfront activity every day. They serve campers from both camp sections and every age group. They have to be safety-oriented, have to have great communication skills, and be very flexible, as the schedule may change occasionally. They must stay on premises during camp week, and support evening programs.

Minimum age: 19 years old by June 1st.

Job dates: June 12 – August 18.

Lifeguard

They must be Red Cross Lifeguard certified. Lifeguards are responsible for guarding waterfront activities such as the pool, lake and the water slide. They serve campers from both camp sections and every age group. They have to be safety-oriented, have to have great communication skills, and be very flexible, as the schedule may change occasionally. They are also responsible to clean waterfront areas.

Minimum age: 16 years old by June 1st.

Job dates: June 13 – August 18.

Assistant Cook

The Assistant Cook is the right hand of the Kitchen Services Director. They have to prepare, cook, and serve meals for every camper and staff member, three times a day. They have to be able to work independently, delegate tasks, lead a group of teenage kitchen helpers, and enforce all health codes and kitchen rules.

Minimum age: 18 years old by June 1st.

Job dates: June 13– August 18.

Kitchen Staff

The Kitchen Staff makes it possible for campers and staff to have three meals a day. They have to prepare, cook, and serve meals for both camp sections. They have to clean up the dining facility and the kitchen after each meal. They have to be able to follow instructions, learn to work independently, and follow all health codes and kitchen rules. They have to be quick, and be able to make good decisions quickly in stressful situations. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs, and be on feet for long periods of time.

Minimum age: 16 years old by June 1st.

Serve to Lead - Teen Leadership Program

We are offering a new leadership training for youth age 15 or older who would like to serve, develop leadership skills, and grow in their relationship with God. Through a hands-on, four week long program participants will gain relevant camp ministry experience and lots of awesome memories! 

Minimum age: 15 years old by June 1st.

Program dates: 4 week session between  June 13 – August 18.

Year Round Positions:

Food Service staff: Do you love serving and cooking then join our kitchen staff as they serve our guests tasty meals.   Work will include assistance with food prep, cleaning and preparing tables for guests, serving or refilling food, dish washing and end of meal clean up.
